At our Imaging Clinic, you’ll find a variety of high quality examinations at your disposal, such as panoramic, 3D CBCT radiographs and digital impressions. Our experienced and well trained staff will make sure that your visit will be as comfortable as possible, as they will look after you and answer any questions you may have. After your visit, we’ll send you your diagnostic report in French, English or German. To be eligible for an examination, we require a referring letter from the referring doctor or dentist, specifying the type of examination as well as the required clinical information for that specific test.
Cone beam computed tomography (or CBCT) has mostly replaced traditional CT for dental imaging, which is largely thanks to the lower dose of radiation it gives of, as well as the high resolution 3D images that it produces. All of this means that CBCT is the main choice when precise 3D information about the teeth is needed.
Intraoral radiographies continue to be the most common radiographic technique around the world for dental imaging. In this procedure, we use an x-ray generator and intraoral receptor to produce a radiograph project of the teeth. The digital detectors that we use in our clinic reduce the radiation dose that patients are exposed to by up to 50%, when compared to film imaging.
Panoramic images are two-dimensional tomographic images that give an overview of the dentomaxillofacial complex at a relatively low cost and a low dose of radiation.
Skull projections are used to evaluate skeletal relations and growth, through the use of digital detectors. These often extra projections are easy to do and at a minimal dose of radiation.
Thanks to optical intra-oral cameras, we can now say goodbye to the awkward and often uncomfortable traditional technique of getting dental impressions through the use of plastic paste that the patient had to bite down on. Digital impressions are not only more comfortable for the patient, but they also provide a much more precise impression of the teeth.
